MSF is presently seeking applicants for the position of:


Job Description.

  • Plan, organize, and evaluate the activities concerning his/her field of action Nursery and the team associated, according to MSF values, policies and protocols and universal health standards.
  • Carry out the functions and tasks associated to his/her speciality, i.e. perform as a nurse, midwife, labtech and anesthetist, whenever required or needed,
  • Implement all the protocols and hygiene procedures, and supervise his/her team follow the same standards,
  • Organize and coordinate the activities of his/her team (week’s schedule, annual leave, absences, etc.), evaluate their performance and define and ensure the needs for training of staff,
  • Carry out and/or supervise the ( decentralized) pharmacy and medical equipment management (drugs orders, follow-up of the stock, storage conditions, inventories, follow-up of expired drugs and their destruction, drugs consumption, etc.)In his or her department
  • Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring that cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols

During the ‘Surveillance’ Period:

  • Participate to the review of the contingency plans and the scenarios of the emergency team.
  • Make sure the case definition and data collection in the country are made in accordance with the national surveillance system and MSF guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain the Excel files for weekly surveillance of CS Meningitis, Yellow Fever, Cholera, Lassa Fever (and when needed other epidemic prone diseases) cases including population figures.
  • Carry out passive epidemiological surveillance by establishing weekly contacts with States and LGAs agencies as well as analysing datas of NCDC and States.
  • Report each contact and the main info of the conversation to the follow up tool.

During the ‘Exploratory Mission’ Period of time:

  • Participate in conducting exploratory missions for epidemic prone disease.
  • Participate to the report of in the exploratory missions reports.
  • Participate to the proposal of intervention based on the report of exploratory missions reports.
  • Define the staffing of nurses needed for the project.
  • Participate in to the recruitment of nurses.
  • Intervene in emergency responses that are proposed and validated

Required Skills and Conditions:

  • Speciality, Nursing diploma essential
  • Essential 2 years of previous experience with MSF or other NGO’s and in developing countries is desirable.
  • Computing skills and competency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft excel and Internet.
  •  Pharmacy experience is an advantage
  • Fluent in spoken and written English is preferred and Hausa is an advantage.



  • Contract in Abuja, 208 working hours per month and roster flexibility required
    The EPREP Nurse Supervisor will be based in Abuja with frequent travel throughout Nigeria, particularly Northern part of the country. (20% MSF Abuja Office and 80% Field).



    • Monthly Gross salary of N332,000.
